An accomplished dancer, choreographer, producer, drummer and singer from Zimbabwe, Tongesayi has visited the UK a number of times. He offers a rich combination of African dance styles and drumming from his diverse dance and musical background.

His dance draws on an amalgamation of West African and traditional Southern African dance movements.

His drum repertoire includes Jit, Zulu, Shona, Zambian, Mozambican and West African traditional and collaborative rhythms.

Tongesayi has been Choreographer for Zimbabwe's National Dance Troupe and is the Artistic Director of KHULA African Arts, which works closely with the Mpopoma Dance Ensemble in Bulawayo, 2002 winners of the Zimbabwe National Arts & Music Dance Group Award.

He has worked both as a solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians and dance groups as choreographer, producer, dancer and drummer, both in Zimbabwe and elsewhere in Africa and overseas.

Based in Sheffield when in the UK, Tongesayi teaches African dance styles and drumming skills in both junior and secondary schools and is a workshop leader for other interested groups. He is also available to teach elsewhere in the UK.
